Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about TaxRx
General
What types of entities does TaxRx support?
TaxRx supports all business entity types including LLCs, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, sole proprietorships, and partnerships. You can manage multiple entities from a single dashboard, making it perfect for business owners with complex structures.
How does TaxRx differ from QuickBooks or other accounting software?
TaxRx is specifically designed for tax management and multi-entity structures. While QuickBooks focuses on general accounting, TaxRx specializes in tax tracking, quarterly estimates, S-Corp compliance, and generating CPA-ready tax reports. You can connect QuickBooks Online directly to sync transactions, or import data via CSV exports from any accounting software. You can also connect your bank accounts directly via Plaid.
Do I need accounting knowledge to use TaxRx?
No! TaxRx is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. Our AI handles categorization automatically, and we provide clear guidance throughout. However, we recommend working with a CPA for tax filing and complex tax situations.
Security & Privacy
Is my financial data secure?
Yes, absolutely. We use bank-level encryption (AES-256-GCM) for sensitive data and secure connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. We partner with Plaid for bank connections, which means we never store your banking credentials. All data is encrypted and stored securely in SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure (Supabase). We implement GDPR-compliant data protection measures including Row Level Security, data export capabilities, and user-controlled data deletion.
Who can see my financial data?
Only you and authorized users you invite can see your data. We never share your financial information with third parties except as required for service delivery (like Plaid for bank connections). You can read our full Privacy Policy for details.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export all your data at any time in standard formats (CSV, PDF). If you cancel, we'll retain your data for 90 days in case you want to reactivate, then permanently delete it according to our data retention policy.
Banking & Transactions
Can I connect multiple bank accounts?
Yes! You can connect unlimited bank accounts across all your entities. Each account syncs automatically, and transactions are organized by entity. Starter plans include 2 accounts, while Professional and Enterprise plans include unlimited accounts.
Which banks are supported?
We support over 11,000 financial institutions in the US through our partnership with Plaid. This includes all major banks, credit unions, and financial institutions. If your bank isn't supported, you can manually import transactions via CSV.
How often do transactions sync?
Transactions sync automatically in real-time as they occur. We also perform daily syncs to ensure nothing is missed. You can manually trigger a sync at any time from your dashboard.
Can I manually add or edit transactions?
Yes! You can manually add transactions, edit existing ones, and recategorize as needed. All changes are tracked in an audit trail for your records.
Tax Features
How accurate are the quarterly tax estimates?
Our quarterly tax estimates are calculated based on your actual income and expenses, using current tax rates and your tax profile. However, these are estimates and should be verified with your CPA. We recommend consulting a tax professional for final calculations.
Does TaxRx file my taxes?
No, TaxRx does not file taxes. We organize your financial data, track expenses, calculate estimates, and generate reports. You or your CPA will use this information to file your actual tax returns. Think of us as your tax preparation assistant.
Do I still need a CPA?
TaxRx is designed to work with your CPA, not replace them. We organize your books, track expenses, and generate reports that make your CPA's job easier and reduce their billable hours. For complex tax situations, legal advice, and actual tax filing, a CPA is essential.
What tax forms can TaxRx help with?
TaxRx helps organize data for Schedule C (sole proprietorships), Form 1120-S (S-Corps), Form 1065 (partnerships), and related schedules. We generate reports that make it easy to complete these forms, but the actual filing is done by you or your CPA.
Pricing & Plans
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and we'll prorate any charges. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What happens after my free trial?
After your 14-day free trial, you'll be automatically enrolled in the plan you selected. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends with no charges. We'll send you reminders before your trial expires.
